Pupil Admissions

We admit severely and profoundly deaf children at any age between 3 and 16 including those with cochlear implants and visual impairments.

  • Potential pupils undergo an assessment to determine if we can meet the child’s communication, academic and social needs

  • Places at the school are funded by local education authorities

  • Parents are encouraged to be involved in their children’s education and are supported by regular newsletters (in BSL video and English), Annual Reviews, Open Day, Parents’ Evenings and attendance at BSL classes

Please come and visit us to find out how education at Royal School for the Deaf Derby could benefit your child

For further information about visits, assessments and funding go to the contact page.
