- Retired as a paediatrician in 2002, having had responsibility for the medical assessments of deaf children for 11 years.
- Became a governor of RSDD in 2000
- Link governor for Citizenship.

Austin Reeves, Chair of Finance Committee
- Bridge Engineer responsible for Coventry City's highway structures.
- Born partially deaf and went to 2 deaf schools in the south.
- Married to Christine with 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
- Served on British Deaf Association's Board for over 25 years, 6 years as Chair to 2002
- Was Deaf Broadcasting Commission Secretary for 13 years.

Janet Bailey, Chair of Pupil Welfare Committee, Human Resources Committee Member
- Worked as a Social Worker, initially, with special needs children and their families. Part of a multi-disciplinary team situated at the Ronnie MacKeith Centre, Derby.
- Continued with child care, supporting families with terminally ill children. During this period became involved with Child Protection and continued until retirement in 2004.

- Trained as a teacher - taught for 25 years
- Final teaching post as Special educational Needs Co-ordinator in a mainstream primary school with an enhance resource provision for deaf children
- Currently working for Derby City Children and Young people’s Department in the Assessment and Commissioning Section

Wendy Daunt, Member of Pupil Welfare Committee
- Head of Production CHASE
- Trustee of the Royal National Institute for the Deaf for 15 years and of the British Deaf Association for 6 years
- Served on the committee of Communication Unlimited, Derbyfor 10 years and as Secretary to Birmingham Deaf Club for 11 years
- Involved with several working groups looking at British Sign Language in schools
- As a Governor my enthusiasm is geared to the success of the RoyalSchoolfor the Deaf Derby in its entirety

Dee Dyar, Curriculum Committee Member
- A specialist speech and language therapist working full time with deaf children (age range 4 months to 19+ years), their families and a range of support professionals
- As a governor I endeavour to share perspective and information in the following areas: assessment of progress in communication skills, identifying and explaining conditions or factors that may affect individual children’s rate of progress in communication skills; cochlear implants – candidacy and outcomes and research trends

Jenny Stacey, Chair of Human Resources Committee
- Trained as a Speech and Language Therapist, specializing in pre-school children. Worked at many clinics around Derbyshire, as well as the Ronnie Mackeith Child Development Centre at the Children's Hospital.
- Two years ago, joined "the family firm" and took over the office and personnel duties for the family bakery.
